This piece of art is on display in the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart, Tasmania. It is a place where ancient Egyptian tombs sit alongside rotting animal carcasses and a Madonna karaoke machine. It contains the truly bizarre. The picture below is one of the art works contained at MONA.
My initial thought was that the artist was illustrating that stone throwing and violence is an integral part of Islam, fundamental to the religion. However, on second thoughts it occurred to me that it was possible that the artist was illustrating that stone throwing and violence has been artificially implanted into the religion. What led me to this conclusion was the rough cutout where the stone was sitting.
